His debut album A Cleveland Story: Heart of The City was released October 13, 2015 to nothing but positive reviews. “I’m just working man. I’m just really trying to take this thing to the next level. Once I’m done, the whole world is gonna remember me. Thats the goal.” YP’s follow up album Joyous Pain is scheduled for a summer 2016 release.
New music here from YP, Cleveland hip hop artist with his latest single 'For The Summer'. Starting off with the beat, it gives me a Kanye West vibe, as you hear the sped up samples, piano keys, strings, and uptempo beat. College Drop out in sound, the beat really makes you think about those Summer days and times you spend with family and friends. YP brings a confident, positive flow and tone to this track. His style is similar to those 'hip hop head' artists. Not in a bad way, but in that YP speaks clear, proper, and utilizes literary technique. This is one of those tracks you can play at the family reunion that the older people can vibe to and the younger people can still respect.
I believe concepts are a missing part of some of the hip hop songs we are today, and it's good to hear YP bring a strong concept to life. The importance of family, remembering good times, and creating new memories is something we all can value.
